Cast Iron Integration Appliance, iA3000, wins "Product of the Year"

2006 Network Computing Well-Connected Awards honor Cast Iron Systems' market leading approach to completing integration projects in days

Mountain View, CA, May 3, 2006 —Cast Iron Systems, the fastest growing vendor of application integration appliances, announced today that its integration appliance, the Cast Iron iA3000, has won "Product of the Year" in the Application Infrastructure category at CMP Media LLC's Network Computing Magazine's Well-Connected Awards. The Cast Iron iA3000 was found to be the only integration solution capable of delivering integration projects in days for 20% of the cost of software-based products.

Built on years of in-production experience and customer input, the Cast Iron iA3000 is a purpose-built, enterprise-class solution for application integration. Using a "no-coding" approach, the iA3000 enables companies to configure and deliver completed application integration projects in days rather than months.

Network Computing chose the Cast Iron iA3000 over other entrants in the category, for the following reasons:

  • "No other integration technology we tested provides the out-of-the-box experience of the Cast Iron's iA3000"
  • "While every integration product we tested gets the job done, Cast Iron Systems does so with finesse and ease. This up-and-coming vendor stole the spotlight, and again proves that orchestrating communication between applications isn't rocket science."
  • "Cast Iron's iA3000 is what integration ought to be, and it's certainly worth every penny."

"To be selected two years in a row by one of the finest publication testing labs in the industry is an enormous honor. Integration has been a really painful and time-consuming problem in the past. The iA3000 is part of our continuous commitment to eliminate this complexity and provide the fastest path to complete application integration. This award is another testament to the fact that we're delivering on that commitment," said Ram Gupta, President and CEO of Cast Iron Systems.

"The Well-Connected Awards are unique because they're the only industry awards given by technologists based on real-world use and integration. We view all products, technologies

and services from the same perspective as our readers — our peers — do," said John Siefert, Publisher of Network Computing. "This is an important distinction from any other award program — the products selected in the Well-Connected Award have been tested in an actual business environment and judged by our editors themselves. They are truly innovative solutions that work — and we have the metrics to prove it."
