Cast Iron Systems Introduces New Integration Appliances Designed Specifically for Salesforce.com

Cast Iron Also Offers "Implementation on Our Dime" Promotion and Subscription Pricing

Mountain View, CA, 17, 2006 — Cast Iron Systems, the fastest growing integration appliance vendor, today introduced a family of new appliances — iA2500-SF, iA3000-SF and iA3000HA-SF — designed specifically for companies using salesforce.com. The company is also offering to complete integration projects free of charge with its new "Implementation on Our Dime" program. In addition, Cast Iron is introducing an affordable subscription pricing program.

Cast Iron's new AppExchange Certified appliances enable companies to integrate the Salesforce suite rapidly with other enterprise applications. These appliances offer salesforce.com customers the fastest return on investment by delivering integration in just days, reducing integration costs by 80 percent over traditional software-based alternatives and requiring no software to purchase, install or maintain.

The appliances synchronize valuable Salesforce suite data across the enterprise, making it easily accessible to different groups and applications in real time. Integration projects are accelerated because the need for software coding is eliminated through the use of built-in technology optimized for all major applications and endpoints including Lawson, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, SAP, Oracle, Sybase, MS-SQL Server, Informix, DB2, flat-files (FTP/HTTP), XML and web services.

Cast Iron's appliances are suited to heterogeneous environments, connecting applications regardless of the operating system they run on. According to Frank Kenney, research director at Gartner, integration appliances provide many advantages.

"Appliances are able to support very high throughput and are often neutral with respect to operating system, middleware and application server," he said. "In addition, appliances are often less expensive than full-blown integration suites."

For Magma Design Automation, a leading developer of electronic-design automation (EDA) software for semiconductor manufacturers, the need to integrate SAP financial applications with the Salesforce suite led to selection of the iA3000-SF.

"We looked at a number of integration tools, but we chose Cast Iron for its simple, appliance-based approach," said Chip Vanek, director of corporate and CRM applications for Magma Design Automation. "What really got our attention was the ability of the Cast Iron iA3000-SF to be implemented in a matter of days."

Salesforce.com supported Cast Iron in the development of the iA3000-SF and has deployed the product for its own IT integration initiatives.

"Application and data integration are essential if companies are to take full advantage of the on-demand Business Web," said Cindy Warner, senior VP of global integration services, salesforce.com. "Our partnership with Cast Iron Systems ensures companies complete these integrations in a matter of days without writing code and begin reaping the rewards of an on-demand enterprise faster than ever before."

Cast Iron's salesforce.com series consists of three appliances, including the entry-level iA2500-SF for connecting the Salesforce suite to a single application; the iA3000-SF, an enterprise solution for connecting the Salesforce suite to multiple applications; and the iA3000HA-SF, for high-availability applications. Each appliance offers a comprehensive set of management tools that allow companies to complete and maintain projects quickly and easily. Key features include one-click configuration of all Salesforce objects; simultaneous, real-time data access for different groups and applications; and guaranteed messaging, with complete transaction audit trails and no risk of lost data between the Salesforce suite and other systems.

All three appliances are now generally available and include Cast Iron's "Implementation on Our Dime" program offering free, first-project integration services.
