Cast Iron Systems Announces Updates and Enhancements To Its Premiere Application Router®

New Version of the Product Continues to Simplify Data Integration

Mountain View, CA, August 25, 2004 — Cast Iron Systems, a pioneer of application integration appliances, today announced its latest version of the Application Router 1000. This latest version of the Application Router 1000, version 2.3.4, includes new security enhancements and support for processing large data files. Cast Iron Systems' unique integration appliance enables companies to complete projects in days rather than months, and realize unprecedented Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) savings for a data integration solution.

Cast Iron's Application Router is the simplest data integration solution on the market today. Instead of installing multiple pieces of software, worrying about compatibility issues, and tracking hardware requirements, customers can simply connect a network cable to the Application Router appliance, complete the network setup, and begin designing integration solutions. The Application Router does not require any additional hardware or software. It's that simple.

New Features in the Application Router 1000:

  • Improved Security:
    • Https based secure access to Router data thru Web Management Console
    • Password protection w/encryption of all project files published to a Router
    • Connectivity to applications using Secure FTP (FTP over SSH)
  • Support for Large Data Files:
    • Ability to handle large XML and Flat Files
    • Ability to "split" large files into smaller chunks in orchestrations

"With this latest upgrade to the Router, we continue to add functionality that serves the practical needs of many of our Fortune 500 customers and enables them to solve their integration needs in the shortest amount of time possible," said Fred Meyer, CEO and president of Cast Iron Systems. "We are committed to providing our customers with the simplest, most cost-effective and reliable solution for data integration in the market today."

About the Application Router

The Cast Iron Application Router is the first integration solution to address the majority of data integration problems where traditional integration solutions are overly complex and custom programming is insufficient.
