Mountain View, CA, September 22, 2003 — Cast Iron Systems, inventor of the Application Router 1000, today announced the appointment of Doug Reid to the position of vice president, worldwide sales. Mr. Reid brings to this role more than 10 years of experience in global sales of enterprise-level systems and products, having worked in senior sales positions for BEA Systems, Inc., CommVault Systems, Inc. and Parametric Technology Corporation. Reporting to Cast Iron Systems CEO and president, Fred Meyer, Mr. Reid will direct the Company's sales efforts.

Mr. Reid joined Cast Iron Systems from BEA Systems, where he served as senior regional director. He was their key force to revenue growth in a start up region consisting of the
Silicon Valley and Sacramento. He was instrumental in establishing their go to market strategy and was responsible for driving the sales efforts for his region, which was a top generator during repetitive quarters.
Prior to joining BEA Systems, Mr. Reid was regional director at CommVault Systems. There, he was responsible for direct and reseller revenue in the western U.S. and Mexico. While at CommVault he created and led a stellar sales team that successfully brought to market a new product into the storage management space. Reid and his team consistently beat competitors in key deals and were key revenue generators quarter after quarter.
Mr. Reid holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University, where he majored in business.
